Some common mistakes that are committed and are transparently obvious can be avoided and corrected. Some of the common mistakes that can be avoided are :
1. Mistake 1: Tune: Singing out of tune is a common mistake which can be corrected if known before the performance. How to sing correctly: recite and perform it forth some one who is more experienced than you at singing.
2. Mistake 2 : Comfort : Some do not smile at the audience. On the contrary the countenance on the face is such as to make the audience uncomfortable. The quality of the voice is negatively affected by this attitude of the singer. Some of the singers present themselves on the stage with a big smile, but the moment the performance starts the smile has vanished leaving the audience embarrassed. How to sing correctly: Be comfortable and make your audience feel comfortable. Have a friendly approach making them feel comfortable
3. Mistake 3 : Confidence: Some of the singers are nervous and perform on the stage with their eyes closed. This shows lack of confidence to such an extent that the singer is thought to be nervous. How to sing correctly: Be confident about your singing capabilities. Be sure you have to perform on the stage. It is not the audience who is going to perform. The audience is the ultimate judge of your performance but this is going to happen only after you perform. So perform and let the performance decide your abilities.
4. Mistake 4: Eye Contact: Some of the singers perform on the stage with their eye contact so intense that they look like a wild animal in the cage that is just waiting for the cage door to open to freedom. How to sing correctly: Maintain the eye contact because if you are going to close your eyes it does not mean that the audience are not looking at you. Moreover the audience is there for your voice and performance not for your looks.
5. Mistake 5: Body Movement : Some of the singers maintain the eye contact but on starting their performance, their legs stick to the stage and do not move at all. This makes the audience tensed and uptight. How to sing correctly: You are not a robot. You are a human being.
6. Mistake 6: Vocal Range : Some singers try to sing beyond their vocal range and spoil the song. This could lead the singer to produce such sounds that could not only embarrass the organizers but also the audience. How to sing correctly: Everything is good in limits. Choose the song of your vocal range. Try to go beyond your vocal range, can not only spoil your performance but also injure your vocal sacks. Attitude : The Attitude of the singer is the root cause to the majority of the mistakes mentioned above. Think in the Audience's perspective and you will be able to tide over all the mistakes during your performance. Try to please to them and they will respect you.
